Common Vaping Problems & How to Solve Them

Vaping should be a pleasant experience, but when something goes wrong, trying to figure out what the problem is and how to solve it can be frustrating. Most vaping problems can be solved easily-all you need is our handy guide to help you!

1.The battery is not working

There is nothing worse than picking up your vape device and discovering that the battery is not working. There are many reasons for this, so please check:

  • Check if you haven’t turned it off-for some vape mods and pens, the procedure to turn off the device is to press the power button several times in a row. If you were frustrated while trying to make it work and did so, then you may have actually turned it off! Please refer to the instructions for your device.
  • The battery is dead-the e-cigarette battery should be able to be used for a period of time, and discharge when the e-cigarette is used multiple times. If it is flat, please charge it according to the instructions, unless it is a “straight-through” charging e-cigarette pen or module, do not try to use it while charging.
  • Clean the connection-If the connection between the battery and the fuel tank is dirty, the battery will work harder to heat your vape juice. With this in mind, remove the battery and clean the connections and the top of the battery with a cloth or cotton swab. Reinsert the battery and try again.
  • You need a new battery-the battery will not last forever, so if your battery is dead, it may really be dead. Time to invest in new ones!

2.Vaping juice in the airflow

There are many reasons for this to happen, so you need to find the source of the problem. It may have several things:

  • Overheating-If you put the vape mod in the sun or near a heat source, it may overheat and cause the vape liquid to become thinner.
  • The coil needs to be replaced-this is easy to accomplish and the problem can be solved immediately.
  • Your vape style-more importantly, if you have a device that suits you. For example, you may have a device that goes directly to the lungs, but you are mouth-to-lung vape, which can cause it to overheat.
  • Check the e-liquid-the low-resistance coil produces more airflow and is designed for VG juice, the thicker of the two e-liquids. If you are using a thinner PG liquid, it may leak into the airflow. Learn all about choosing the right e-juice through our Vape Juice Guide.
  • Increase the power-it may be that there is not enough power to evaporate the juice every time the juice is drawn. When this happens, the coil is submerged, causing steam to be generated in the airflow.
  • Empty the fuel tank before takeoff! – If you return from a vacation abroad after a flight, the change in air pressure during the flight will force the vape juice to flow out of the fuel tank. If this happens, it will become clear soon.

3.The screen shows that the atomizer is empty

If you think or know that this is a wrong interpretation, you can try the following methods:

  • The tank is crooked-storing vape in pockets and bags means it will be hit. A bent water tank will not connect properly, so an error message will be displayed on the screen. If you can’t correct it, you need to invest in a new tank.
  • Check the coil-if the coil is loose or the connection is blocked by steam, you will also receive this atomizer empty message. Clean it and the display should start to read correctly.
  • Over-tightening of the tank-Excessive use when tightening the tank can cause various problems, including cross-threading of threads and weakening of the connection between the tank and the internal connection.
  • Replacing the coil-If you start to receive error messages or the screen does not display the message you think should be displayed, the coil may need to be replaced. This may also indicate that your hard-working vape mod needs some care and attention.

4.There’s no draw from your vape device

Annoying! You’re all set for a quick session, one that you have been looking forward to for some time and then… nothing. We feel your pain. Here’s what to do:

  • Check the device is on – no draw may mean no power. Remember what we said in the first troubleshooting list about how constantly depressing the power button may actually be switching it off? Check the device instructions.
  • Check the battery – is the battery fully charged? If it doesn’t have enough charge, it won’t deliver the poke you need.
  • Check the tank – you may also find that your vaping device has an automatic shut off when the juice in the tank drops to a certain level. Check and refill your tank.
  • Check the connections – as an electrical device, there are plenty of connections in your vape mod that must be doing just that because without connections, there is no path for messages to be delivered from the power unit to the device. And that means no draw.
  • Dud coil – it could simply be a dud coil. If you’ve tried all of the above, you might just need to change it.

These are some common vape problems, I hope it will help you and you have a good vape experience now. We will also introduce more in the following blog posts.
